As we move through October, I’m pleased to share that our new District Strategic Plan has been officially approved. This plan will guide our collective work and priorities over the next five years, keeping students at the center of everything we do. You can learn more in the Handbook Highlight section below.
We’re also making steady progress on our referendum projects. Construction remains on schedule, and the West Allis Central Fieldhouse is quickly taking shape as we near completion.
This month, we hosted our 3rd Annual Retiree Breakfast, welcoming more than 150 retired employees to reconnect, share stories, and explore new ways to stay engaged with the WAWM community, a powerful reminder of their lasting impact on generations of students.
We also launched the Voice Student Advisory Group with its first meeting of the year. Student representatives will attend Board of Education meetings throughout the year to share their perspectives and help shape our district’s continued growth.
It’s been an energizing fall inside our classrooms, filled with learning, growth, and student engagement. Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we work together to provide exceptional learning experiences for every student in the West Allis–West Milwaukee School District.
