Hale Hosts Statewide Transportation Career Showcase

On October 3, Nathan Hale High School had the honor of hosting the annual Transportation Career Showcase, sponsored by the Wisconsin Automobile & Truck Dealers Association (WATDA). The event brought together over 1,000 students from across the region, all eager to explore the many career opportunities available in the automotive and transportation industries.

Students had the chance to learn about a wide range of careers, including automotive technician, detailer, sales, marketing, finance, and more. Through hands-on activities, demonstrations, and conversations with industry professionals, students were able to envision possible career paths and begin identifying the next steps in their journey after high school.

Events like this highlight the importance of Career and Technical Education (CTE) in the West Allis-West Milwaukee School District. By connecting students with real-world experiences and industry experts, CTE opens doors to meaningful career opportunities and helps students build the skills necessary for future success.

Mr. Jack Hart, Autos Teacher at Nathan Hale, emphasized the value of the showcase: “This event allows students to see firsthand the wide range of opportunities available to them in the transportation industry. It’s about more than just cars, it’s about giving students a vision for their future and helping them take that first step toward a rewarding career.”

The showcase was not only a celebration of career exploration but also a reminder of the strong partnerships between schools, industry leaders, and organizations like WATDA that are committed to preparing the next generation of skilled professionals.
